Utilising A Prayer Book for Australia, Sunday services are centred around the Eucharist. St Matthew’s & St Linus’ enjoy the leadership of lay readers with St Matthew’s also enjoying crucifers and occasional accolytes. Incense is used only on special occasions. At St Linus’ it is traditional for a thurifer to process at Christmas Midnight Mass and St Matthew’s occasionally.
A children’s area is set up toward the front in both churches so young children can see what is happening ‘up the front’. There is also plenty of room for prams or strollers. There are convenient ‘escape routes’ for parents if they feel the need to take children outside for a time.
Both churches encourage family, all age worship on Sundays. Our services are sometimes formal, sometimes informal. Sunday School is available for school age children during school terms.
There are midweek services available. At St Matthew’s a eucharist is held at 10am each Wednesday in the St Martin’s Chapel.
Throughout the year the need for other services arises. Please check What’s On
