What God has joined together…let no one separate

St Linus’ Merlynston is ideally suited for small to medium weddings. Situated in a quiet street with a beautiful parkland setting out the front it is a traditional church internally and always bathed in light due to the glass eastern end of the church. Added to this appeal are the stained glass windows, a large modern sanctuary area, air conditioned for the summer, heated for the winter, that all add to a beautiful and comfortable atmosphere. St Linus’ is home to a heritage organ if traditional organ music is desired, however music is entirely up to the wedding couple.

The church will easily accommodate up to 100-120 persons, including the wedding party, making it ideal for small to medium weddings. Close enough to the city and/or northern suburb reception venues.

St Matthew’s Glenroy is a large, tasteful, modern church that can easily accommodate up to 250 guests comfortably.   Situated on a large corner of land it has ample off street parking at the rear and a large garden area at the front. Next door is Wiseman House, a large period homestead that is ideal for photographs. The hall on the ground floor of the House is available for hire and could be used for a medium sized reception so your guests can remain on the property for the entire wedding. St Matthew’s has a mezzanine level where the large pipe organ is situated. It provides a great view of the church and would make an ideal position for photographers/videographers.

What we do for you

We look after:

The preparation and dispatch of all documents and certificated required legally for your marriage.

Your wedding preparations

All arrangements for the Church Service

The officiating priest of the parish is Rev’d Robert Koren.

Wedding kneelers, pew bows, flowers are all included.

Services conducted at St Linus’ & St Matthew’s follow the Anglican rite. The service may include flexibility for additional items such as a unity candle.   Personal words of commitment spoken by the couple are permitted but these do not take the place the vows in the Anglican rite. Contemporary readings/poems are encouraged in addition to one Scripture reading. The service is personalised to make it as memorable as possible, after all, this is the main part of a Wedding Day!

We make every endeavor to allow you full use of the church on the day of your wedding however this is not always possible. If there is another wedding booking for your day there is a two hour minimum time until the next wedding, which should give you ample time for outside photos and catching up with family and guests.

Photographers and Videographers are permitted anywhere in the church as long as they are not intrusive.   It is appreciated if your photographer and/or video person could arrive early to meet the celebrant prior to the service. Additional lighting is not permitted, as it is usually not necessary.

Bride & Groom Names will appear in the church Pew Bulletin on the Sunday before your marriage and the congregation will therefore be praying for you. If you do not wish this to occur please speak with the celebrant.

Please contact the parish office if you have any further questions or to make an appointment with the Parish Priest
